 Middleton Lakes

On 1st July, we visited Middleton Lakes RSPB Reserve in the Tame Valley near Tamworth in Staffordshire. This was recently opened to the public and consists of a series of lakes with scrub and heathland surrounding them. They are beginning to be populated with a variety of birds and other fauna. The day was very warm but quite overcast at times, but there was a wide range of creatures on view. Here's a selection of images of Butterflies, Moths and Insects taken during our visit.

Alpacas @ Kinoulton

During a walk along the Grantham Canal, a local smallholding has a small herd of Alpacas and Donkeys.

I spent sometime photographing the Alapcas. They have very expressive faces and were extremely inquisitive of the camera.
